Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s a new school year and it was lovely to see the children arriving so smartly – we have enjoyed welcoming them back. We hope you have all had a lovely summer. The children of St. Gabriel’s have settled well into their new classes and we welcome our new starters both in our Reception class and also those that have joined in other year groups. We are excited to have you and your families join St. Gabriel’s school community.

Dates

Below is a list of the dates already set for the Autumn term. Keep an eye on updates to this list in future newsletters as we are in the process of confirming dates for Christmas Concerts and events led by our dedicated ‘Friends of St. Gabriel’s.’

Look out for when your child’s class ‘Meet and Greet’ session with their new teacher is. This is an opportunity for you to see your child’s classroom and hear about the plans, curriculum, routines and expectations directly from their teacher(s). It’s a great chance to raise any queries you may have, though of course if there is anything you would like to discuss before, please speak to your child’s teacher upon pick up at the end of the school day. They will be happy to help.

Pupils return to school

Monday 9^th September:

Staff INSET training – school closed to pupils

Tuesday 10^th September:

Individual School Photographs during school time, but you can bring your pre-school siblings for a group photograph at 8:45am to the hall, through the hall door.

Tuesday 10^th September:

3:15pm Meet and Greet with Mrs Waugh for parents of Dosbarth Caernarfon

Wednesday 11^th September:

3:05pm Meet and Greet with Mrs Williams and Mrs Wright for parents of Dosbarth Rhaglan

Thursday 12^th September:

3:15pm Meet and Greet with Miss Chard for parents of Dosbarth Caerfilil

Friday 13^th September:

3:05pm Meet and Greet with Mrs Rayner for parents of Dosbarth Cas-Gwent

Wednesday 18^th September:

3:10pm Meet and Greet with Mrs Dewhurst and Mrs de Lima for parents of Dosbarth Cil-y-Coed

Friday 20^th September:

1:45pm Annual General Meeting for the ‘Friends of St. Gabriel’s’

Thursday 3^rd October:

3:15pm Parent Information Meeting for new Archdiocese ‘Relationships and Sex Education’ (RSE) Curriculum.

Monday 21^st October

All day – School closed to pupils for Staff INSET training day.

Friday 25^th October:

Afternoon – Year 6 at Crucial Crew Trip

Half term: Monday 28^th October to Friday 1^st November
