Newsletter 24.1.20
Dear Parents and Carers,
Clubs
Confirmation of club places will be sent out via text today. As always, thank you to our staff who generously give up their own time to provide these additional opportunities and experiences for the children of St. Gabriel’s.
Additional School Dinner Options
From next Monday (27th January), in addition to the current hot meal menu options, we will be beginning a 2 week trial where our canteen will also be offering a sandwich meal option.
Daily sandwich choices will be from ham, cheese or tuna plus other items to create a ‘packed lunch’ style bag. This choice can be ordered in the same way as hot meal options, but please do ensure your child’s parent pay account has sufficient credit prior to ordering. The price for the sandwich bag option is the same as a hot meal choice.
Attendance
A big thank you to all parents for supporting your child’s attendance at school. The numbers have really improved over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully our January will continue to be healthy!
Dosbarth Coch: 96.4%
Dosbarth Cas-Gwent: 100% J
Dosbarth Rhaglan: 99.5%

Community News – Ringland Library
We were pleased to hear this week that the Ringland Library, as part of the Newport East Community Hub, is now open. In addition to borrowing books, it also provides the additional services of:
- free internet access via wi-fi and public access computers
- scanner
- black and white printing
- photocopying
The opening hours are 9am – 5pm, each week day. It would be lovely to hear what the children think of their new community library.
