Dear Parents / Carers,

Sports’ Day

At time of writing this newsletter, the weather is looking like perfect conditions for sports’ day – let’s hope that continues. It was lovely talking to the children this morning to hear how excited they are to cheer on their house team-mates.

School Uniform and School Bags

Many thanks to those that supported our change in policy this autumn when we moved away from rucksacks in the cloakrooms as they are easily knocked off the pegs which causes a safety issue for our children.

I appreciate that some parents missed the communication and therefore bought rucksacks specifically for the academic year we are now ending, therefore, following parent feedback, I will put the bookbag (not rucksack)  reminder on each newsletter until the end of term. I will also send out the whole school uniform and resources information booklet for all to reference in readiness for the summer term.

Please be aware that our school is continuing to grow in size this September and we really must all work together to ensure that the cloakrooms pose no unnecessary risks to our children. We thank you for your support in keeping our pupils safe. If you have any queries about this, please do contact me to discuss.

Exciting News!

Dosbarth 5 children are already aware, as last week Mrs McLeod, shared the exciting news that she is expecting her second baby. We are all thrilled for her and her family. However, not to worry, she will be with us until the end of term, starting maternity leave in September.

After School

There have been a number of instances of late when children have had disputes after school, once they have been released to their parents / carers. We do appreciate that pick up time is an important social and catch up time for parents, however, please be mindful of children’s actions whilst on school premises.

Holidays are continuing which are impacting attendance across the school but very well done to everyone who is here and continuing to make the most of their learning experiences. Remember, if you are thinking about a holiday in term time, please tag it on to a half term break as this reduces the impact of the learning days lost.

Here’s the break down for this week:

Class 1: 91.8%

Class 2: 99.2%  Da iawn!

Class 3: 96.6%

Class 4: 94.4%

Class 5: 94.9%

Class 6: 93.5%
