Dear Parent/Guardian,
FREE Breakfast Club
As you know we operate a free breakfast club from 8:10 – 8:40am each morning. Given the amount of interest shown in signing up we were able to set up a breakfast club with 85 places.
However, a number of pupils have not taken up their places and we have a situation where if we don’t have the numbers a cap will be set at 55 pupils. This will mean a waiting list will become necessary.
To avoid this, if you want your breakfast club place, make sure that it is used.
Family Learning Workshops
Spelling Strategies
We have had two successful workshops in school this week. Helen Davies ran the first for our KS2 parents and focused upon spelling strategies.
Exploring Hwb
Our second workshop, which focused on Hwb for Foundation Phase pupils, was led by Miss Foster who was ably assisted by our Digital Leaders – we were very proud of how confident you all were!
Christmas Card Recycling
Thank you to all families and friends of families who donated their Christmas Cards to school to help our entry into the Newport Wastesavers competition. The deadline for adding cards has now closed and our Pupil Voice group are getting ready to submit our entry.
Attendance
We are pleased to tell you that we have met our target set by the local authority every month so far this school year. That’s a fantastic achievement showing how much learning time is valued at St. Gabriel’s.
