Friends of St. Gabriel’s – Foundation Phase Film Night Thursday 21^st November

Please see your ParentPay account or ask in the school office if you do not have one to be able to book your tickets should your child wish to attend this event. Booking closes on Tuesday 19^th November.

Please be aware:

As we are using the ParentPay system for payment now, this needs to be closed down prior to establishing numbers and this is why we are unable to safely add additional numbers in after the payment deadline. In this way we can ensure the appropriate staff ratios and first aid provision is in place to ensure the safety of all children at the event.

 

Christmas Fayre – Friday December 13^th

There is a meeting in school on Friday 22^nd November at 2:15pm. Please do come along if you able to help prepare in advance, prepare on the day or run a stall.

 

We know that this event would not be the annual success it is without your ongoing support. Therefore, it is with hope for your continued generosity, that in exchange for non-uniform on these days, we ask for the following donations to prepare for the fayre:

• Friday 22^nd November: £1 donation requested for members of ‘The Friends’ to purchase items for the hampers.
• Friday 29^th November: Chocolate donations requested for the gift stall
• Friday 6^th November: Bottle donations requested for the ‘5 and 0 Bottle Stall’

 

Reception Applications

Applications are open for pupils who will be starting school in September 2020. As we are a Catholic School, the application is different to the Local Authority process and the forms are available from the school office and also on the school website. www.stgabrielsrcprimary.org.uk

REMINDERS:

 

Foundation Phase Nativity

 

As Foundation Phase is now three classes, we are having three performances with the family of each class having a date to be their audience – see the information in the dates section below. We understand due to work and other commitments that some families may need to attend a different performance, if this is the case – please do get in touch with the school office.

 

It has now been school policy for a number of years that children under nursery age do not attend the Foundation Phase performances. This has ensured that the children performing are able to focus and concentrate without distractions. We absolutely understand that sometimes organising child care can be tricky so if you need to bring a child that is under nursery age, provision will be made for you to attend the dress rehearsal. Again, please let the school office know so we can ensure we have sufficient seating planned.

 

 

Friends of St.Gabriel’s – Shopping Update

The Friends of St. Gabriel’s would like to thank those that have gotten an early start on their Christmas shopping and have used the site previously shared –  #easyfundraising! Scout Stamps

We are proud to once again be supporting our local Scout Institution by having the Scout stamps available to sell and the post box in our foyer. Stamps (for all areas of Newport) are 25p – a bargain I’m sure you’d agree! The final date before the scout stamp post box is collected is Monday 9^th December.

 

Parents’ Evening

Parent Consultation appointments will be taking place in the last week of November. The online booking system has been set up after a text message was sent out. If you have not received the booking text, please get in touch with the school office as soon as possible.
