We are completing our Persuasive Letter writing this week. Children are going to write a letter to the Chair of Governors requesting change to become a leading sector school as a Green School and reducing our Carbon Footprint.  Children will start to learn techniques to help develop the effectiveness of their persuasive writing – Alliteration, Facts, Opinions, Repetition, Rhetorical Questions, Emotion, Exaggeration, Statistics and Rule of Three.

Maths

Dosbarth Caerffili will be continuing with decimals.

  1. Add 1 place decimals (where the total is less than 10) using a jumping strategy, initially on a bead bar then number lines e.g.  6.7 + 2.8
  1. Subtract 1 place decimals (where the total is less than 10) using a jumping strategy, initially on a bead bar then number lines e.g.  9.4 – 2.7
  1. Add 1 place decimals using vertical methods e.g. 14.7m + 4.8m, 72.5km + 54.6km
  2. Subtract 1 place decimals using vertical methods e.g. 27.3m – 9.4m, 39.6kg – 17.8kg

We will be continuing with the Topic Eucharist – Relating looking at Memorial and Sacrifice. –

We are continuing to focus on ‘Our Incredible Planet’. We will continue with This week we will be learning About the Seven Wonders of the World. This can also be done collaboratively with peers using HWB if you choose to. It is so important that you try to keep in touch with your class friends.
