Dear Parents / Carers,

Enterprise Week

Enterprise Week was a roaring success! All classes have made a profit for which we thank you all for continuing to be so supportive. Precise profits are being calculated today as the costs of resources and the floats need to be subtracted. Look out for the final figures on twitter later today!

Home Parish School Links – Mass in school

This week we need to thank Father Michael for celebrating a Mass in school with us. It is a long time since we have had a Mass in school and it felt very special. Da iawn St. Gabriel’s.

Home Parish School Links – St. Gabriel’s 1st Holy Communion

Four of our pupils have a very special day this Sunday at 10am in St. Gabriel’s Church. They will be receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time. It would be so lovely to have as many families in Church to support them at this milestone in their faith journey. I hope to see you there.

Sports Day Rained Off

Based on the weather forecast we reluctantly made the decision to cancel sports day yesterday afternoon. Looking at the weather as I type this – it was the right call!

We will now aim to hold the event on our reserve Sports Day on the afternoon of Friday 21st June.

Pentecost – the Birthday of the Church

This Sunday is Pentecost where we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of our Church. Therefore, on Monday, we are having a themed Pentecost day to say happy birthday to the Church! We are having a non-uniform day and asking all pupils and staff to dress in a flame coloured theme linked to the flames of the Holy Spirit. So, on Monday we are looking forward to seeing pupils and staff dressed in bright colours but if possible, yellow, red or orange – or a combination if you prefer!

Uniform

Please could parents ensure that hair accessories are sensible for school and are of an appropriate size.

Attendance

This is a tricky time of year for our attendance figures as there are a number of holidays being taken in term time. Please remember the disruption to both the education and the social elements in school that this causes for your child. Please always try to book in school holidays and if going for two weeks, try to tag it onto one of the half term breaks.

Here’s the break down for this week:

Class 1: 95.1%

Class 2: 90.6%

Class 3: 99.1%  Da iawn!

Class 4: 89.7%

Class 5: 91.7%

Class 6: 96.0%
