Class News

Reception: All the children in Dosbarth Coch had a fantastic day dressed up for their ‘Upon the Ocean Waves’ project launch day. They solved clues to find treasure and walked the plank over ‘shark’ infested waters!

Year 2: Dosbarth Rhaglan had a video call with a musician named Gecko who played them two songs. He answered questions about lyrics and helped Dosbarth Rhaglan learn their own song and played to the class.

Mental Health Awareness Fundraising

Thank you for your generosity in donating for this important cause. At the time of writing, the total has not yet been finalised so we will update you when we have this information.

Election of a Parent Governor

In June our Parent Governor’s term of office reaches an end and therefore, if you wish, a nomination form is enclosed to enable you to put your name forward for election.

Each nominee is invited to make a brief statement in support of their nomination which will be circulated to Parents in the event of an election. Please ensure any statement is clearly written to avoid problems when being reproduced or complete your statement by following this link:  https://forms.office.com/r/SUc1iY738r

A separate, detailed letter will also be sent out to fully explain the process of Parent Governor elections.

Support our School through ‘The Friends of St. Gabriel’s’

The funds that are raised by ‘The Friends of St, Gabriel’s’ go directly to purchases for the children in our school.

Due to the operational guidelines and restrictions that are in place, it is difficult for the ‘Friends’ to fundraise for us however the school lottery is still running and it is a chance to support our school each week, whilst also having a chance to win a weekly prize.

Currently there are special offers to win £100 B&Q gift cards as well as the chance for a weekly prize that is dedicated to someone who is supporting the St. Gabriel’s lottery.

Reminder: Symptom Awareness

Please do not send your child to school if they have any of the following symptoms:

• A new and continuous cough
• A high temperature
• Loss of taste or smell

If any of these symptoms occur please book a Covid-19 test as soon as is possible and communicate the result to us via school text service or school email (day or night) as soon as you receive it.

If your child is not in school, for whatever reason, please do text, email or phone us with the reason as soon as possible on the day of absence, as this is part of the records we need to keep in these COVID times in addition to our normal safeguarding procedures.
